Galactic Evenings
Book your Galactic Evening at the Pic du Midi : an unforgettable starry night.
Galactic Evenings at the Pic du Midi offer a rare journey between earth and sky, starting with a breathtaking ascent and ending under a sky full of stars at the Col du Tourmalet. Watch the mountains glow at sunset before immersing yourself in the vastness of the cosmos, guided by passionate experts.
N’Py expert tip: Don’t forget a warm layer, even in August! At 2,115 m, as soon as the sun slips behind the Soum de Mamay, the Pyrenean air quickly reminds you that the mountains are still in charge.

Yes! Even if it’s been hot in the valley during the day, temperatures drop sharply after sunset at the Col du Tourmalet. Bring warm clothing (a ski jacket works well), sturdy shoes, and a headlamp for moving safely around the telescopes.
You’ll need your own vehicle. It’s about a 10-minute drive from La Mongie to the Maison du Tourmalet. Keep an eye out—you might spot llamas or sheep wandering along the road!
No, dinner is not included. You’re welcome to bring a picnic. The bistro at the top of the Pic du Midi is open until 5 p.m. and offers sandwiches and snacks if you arrive without food.
Children under 3 are not recommended for the Pic du Midi due to the altitude (their inner ear is not fully developed at this age).
Pets are not allowed at the summit, except for assistance dogs.
