Safety & Respect
The basics
Use common sense at all times: you are riding through grazing areas, so please respect the pastures and livestock - they’ll thank you for it. Take all your rubbish back down with you; bins are available at the base of the chairlift. Thanks for respecting the mountain!
You can rent suitable bikes and equipment near the Bike Park, in the village of Cauterets. Please note: there is no rental point on-site at the base of the trails.
Riding levels
Adapt your riding to your level and progress step by step. Several areas and difficulty levels are available: blue trails for beginners, with easy features and obstacles; red trails for experienced riders, with steeper terrain, features and more technical obstacles.
Personal safety
Wearing a helmet is mandatory. Follow the trail signage and don’t take unnecessary risks: only ride features suited to your level. Always check jumps before hitting them (basic rule if you don’t want to end up in a tree).
In case of an accident (hopefully not)
Call 112 and give emergency services the number and colour of the nearest marker.
Environment
You are riding through grazing areas, so please respect the pastures and animals. Take all your rubbish with you; bins are available at the base of the chairlift.
After a few runs, your arms and legs will definitely feel it…
Head to the Lys restaurant to rehydrate and grab a bite right by the trails.
Another option is to head down to Cauterets village for restaurants and cafés.
If you want to relax after a great MTB session, check out the Cauterets spa (in the village).
And if you still have energy left, you can explore the Pont d’Espagne and Lake Gaube.
