How to get here
From the A64 motorway, take exit 16 (Lannemezan) and follow signs for Arreau. In Arreau, continue towards the Vallée du Louron until Génos–Loudenvielle (Hautes-Pyrénées, 65).

When the peaks trade their white coat for the bright green of alpine meadows, Balnéa becomes an oasis of freshness and recovery. Here, thermal bathing truly comes into its own: you come for the purity of the sulphur-rich waters and stay for the peaceful views over Lake Génos–Loudenvielle. Balnéa is the perfect place to unwind after a hike or a mountain bike ride at the Peyragudes Bike Park.
Mineral freshness of the Pyrenees

Imagine the silence of the valley, broken only by the gentle sound of waterfalls in the Amerindian area. In summer, the Balnéa experience is fully enjoyed outdoors.
Relax on natural sun terraces and in outdoor pools, where the naturally warm thermal water contrasts with the cool mountain breeze.
Whether you’re looking for active spa recovery in the Pyrenees or a peaceful break in the Japanese baths, summer here feels timeless.
It’s the perfect place for those whose bodies are tired from the climbs and for anyone seeking pure tranquillity.

The Pyrenean recovery ritual
"Relax man"
After conquering mountain passes by bike or exploring hiking trails, treat your muscles to the very best in natural recovery:
- Natural lymphatic drainage: use the massage jets and water currents to stimulate circulation after a long hike
- Oxygenation & relaxation: combine the benefits of altitude with thermal water for optimal recovery
- Thermal contrast: move from warm outdoor pools to the cool grassy areas to revitalise the body
Let yourself be tempted by the thermal world of Loudenvielle!

Picture this: you’ve just taken off your ski boots after an intense run on the slopes of Peyragudes. Your muscles are still buzzing from the effort, the crisp Pyrenean air is stinging your cheeks, and the sun is starting to set behind the mountains. That’s the exact moment the magic kicks in. In just a few minutes, you go from ski gear straight into Balnéa’s 37°C outdoor pools.
Winter: the ultimate après-ski experience
Ski & Relax in Peyragudes
As snowflakes gently settle on the stone edges of the Japanese pools, you float in warm, soothing steam, facing the snow-covered peaks of the Vallée de Louron . This is the ultimate Pyrenean après-ski ritual, where the body recovers and the mind finally lets go.
- Active recovery: perfect for easing muscle fatigue after a day on the slopes in the Flamme sector.
- Thermal contrast: feel the thrill of the mountain cold paired with the soothing warmth of Roman or Inca baths.
- Cosy atmosphere: as night falls, the pools light up for a magical, starlit moment of relaxation.
With family, friends, or as a couple, it’s always one of the highlights of a winter stay in Loudenvielle.

The art of recovery: après-ski
Complete relaxation after skiing
After snowshoeing up mountain trails or carving down the slopes of Peyragudes, your muscles deserve some extra care. At Balnéa, specially designed treatments draw on wellness rituals from around the world to release tension caused by cold and physical effort. Expert therapists use targeted techniques to boost circulation and ease tension in key areas (lower back, calves, joints), so you’re ready for another day in the mountains. Discover the treatments:
- le massage sportif à l'arnica : le remède miracle des montagnards pour dénouer les fibres musculaires et prévenir les courbatures ;
- le soin aux pierres chaudes : une immersion sensorielle où la chaleur des pierres volcaniques pénètre en profondeur pour un lâcher-prise total ;
- la réflexologie plantaire : parce que vos pieds sont vos meilleurs alliés en montagne, ce soin leur redonne toute leur légèreté...
- Arnica sports massage: a mountain favourite to release muscle tension and help prevent soreness
- Hot stone therapy: a deeply soothing treatment where volcanic stones melt away tension
- Foot reflexology: because your feet do all the hard work, this treatment restores lightness and balance
For an instant “light legs” effect, finish with a dip in the cold Japanese pool just before your massage. The thermal contrast boosts recovery—it’s surprisingly effective!

Balnéa reviews
The Pyrenees’ first thermal spa
“Hello! What a stunning region! 🌿 Between the mountains and the lake, it’s the perfect place to take a break and recharge with family or friends. I highly recommend a getaway to Balnéa. There you’ll discover relaxation areas inspired by traditions from around the world: Inca, Mayan, Amerindian, Roman baths and many more. A true sensory journey that invites you to switch off and unwind, whether with family, friends… or even alone for some well-deserved “me time”. There is a restaurant on site to extend the gourmet experience, and the spa is just a few minutes from the ski slopes, with a lake right nearby that completes this peaceful setting. A perfect place to combine nature, wellbeing and togetherness, and leave feeling light and refreshed.”
Clotilde
“A wonderful break that does you a lot of good. We were in the area for a week of family skiing and took the time to relax at Balnéa. A top-quality wellness centre, everything is beautifully maintained, and the outdoor pools with views of the snowy mountains are simply magical. We absolutely loved it.”
Virginie
“I loved it, and the weather was great too. The outdoor pools were a real treat with those mountain views. Phones aren’t allowed inside, which honestly makes it even better. So just photos around the lake, where the mist rises… that’s Balnéa. Enjoy it.”
Anne-Marie
“A great summer discovery of this thermal spa. The spaces are beautifully designed and the setting is exceptional. The atmosphere is pleasant, and you can discover the “musical bubble” and pools at different temperatures… It was quite busy on Saturday morning, but still reasonably quiet. I especially appreciate the adults-only areas, which are very peaceful. The lifeguards ensure a calm atmosphere, so you can truly relax.”

“You can even step into the snow outside, right next to the warm outdoor pools. Stunning views of the Pyrenees. Cold bath at 15°C, 8°C room, sauna, hammam, and various hot pools at different temperatures. A very enjoyable place. The nearby lake is also beautiful.”
Thomas
“A great place to relax with family, but also as a couple thanks to the adults-only access 😉 Two hours of pure disconnection… and even more when it snows 😍 We go regularly, all year round. The restaurant dishes are very refined. And you can stroll around between the lake and the Skyvall 😉”
